Meet Jodie Buck, New owner of RainTree Quilting, LLC

Meet Jodie Buck, new owner of Raintree Quilting. Your Authorized BERNINA dealer.

Jodie Buck, one of Juneau's "sewing enthusiasts," is RainTree Quilting's new owner!

Jodie's history with sewing is long and varied. She began sewing at a very young age and was making her own clothing by the age of 12. She briefly studied garment design during her under graduate years; those skills have greatly contributed to her love of pattern design. Her favorite garment fabric is cotton, quilting quality cotton. She is often heard saying, "quilting fabrics are the best fabrics to learn to sew on." She began quilting as a young parent.

Her sewing career includes: designing and making wedding gowns, drafting for a garment designer, teaching public school Home Economics sewing classes, writing sewing curriculum and teaching classes through RainTree Quilting. Jodie LOVES to sew and loves to teach others to do so. She is looking forward to working with the staff at RainTree. Her plan includes empowering RainTree's current teachers to continue to grow and to recruit new teaching staff for new projects.

Jodie is a Bernina girl! Her home sewing studio is equipped with 4 Bernina machines. She looks forward to learning as much as she can about the other machines in the line and becoming Juneau's go-to resource for Bernina, fabrics, and general sewing needs.

RainTree Quilting's 2016 Row By Row

To many Alaskans, Home Sweet Home isn't so much a brick and mortar structure, but a sense of place where on any given day boats, barges, beautiful mountains and vast vistas are a part of our environment and the place we call home.  Our row represents what we see outside our windows in Juneau and Southeast Alaska on a daily basis.
